My husband is from Pontboset, and his family goes back generations. Together we decided to restore an ancient ruin, for us and for our three children, in
, a small rural village where there are still authentic historic buildings made of stone and wood.
Châteigne is surrounded by hundred-year-old chestnut trees, which give the town its name (châtaigne is French for chestnut). We then decided to renovate the adjoining house that belonged to my husband’s grandparents and turn it into a bed and breakfast.
